2008 International Workshop on Empirical Economics Successfully Held

    From May 17 to 18, 2008 International Workshop on Empirical Economics jointly organized by SOE and IAR was held in Room 511, SOE administration building.

    Experts and professors from Cornell University, Chicago University, University of Michigan, Boston College, RAND Center, as well as SOE and IAR, SUFE attended the conference and delivered keynote speeches. Topics discussed included econometric method of empirical economics, income inequality and social stability, discrimination, poverty, minimum wage, pension, insurance and welfare policies, income mobility, migration and labor supply, aging, etc.

    This workshop provided a forum for economists from China and all over the world to exchange their ideas and methods of empirical studies, as a catalyst for facilitating economic researches in China.

    From June 21 to 22, 2008 International Workshop on Economic Theory jointly organized by SOE and IAR was held to achieve the same goal.
