On June 11, 2011, seminar on "land system, household registration system and urbanization" jointly sponsored by IAR and Shanghai Development Research Foundation (SDRF) took place at IAR. Professor James G Wen, Director of China Center for Agriculture and Coordinated Rural and Urban Development at IAR and Tenured Professor at Trinity College presided over the seminar, at which IAR Associate Dean Jijun Tan and SDRF Secretary-general Yide Qiao delivered speeches.
This seminar gathered about 20 scholars from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Tsinghua University, Peking University, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tongji University and Zhejiang University, as well as government officials to exchange their viewpoints on the issues concerning land system, household registration system and urbanization.
This is the fourth seminar of its kind held by IAR. IAR will continue to organize such series seminars to solicit opinions from experts and scholars to promote the deep reform of China's land system and household registration system and the sustainable development of urbanization.
