We are pleased to announce that the FEC appears on the list of 2019 The Highest International Impact Academic Journals of China (Humanities and Social Sciences). The list, as part of the “World Academic Journals’ Clout Index (WAJCI) Annual Report 2019”, was released at the 2019 Forum on the Future of Chinese Academic Journals held in Beijing during October 28-29. This is the second time the FEC has moved up to this list, after being selected into the list of Excellent International Impact Academic Journals of China in 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018. According to this year’s Report, the clout index of the FEC stands at 106.030 while international total cites have amounted to 121, double that of 2016.
The 2019 Annual Report provides detailed statistics of 2211 journals in humanities and social sciences and 4133 journals in science and technology run by Chinese universities, institutes or publishers. Based on such data and the impact factor, the journals’ clout indexes are formulated, and the top 5% (incl. 60 in humanities and social sciences and 175 in science and technology) make up the list of The Highest International Impact Academic Journals of China while the top5-10% compose the list of “Excellent International Impact Academic Journals of China”. Among the 60 journals in humanities and social sciences on the former list, about 10 are in the field of economics; besides the FEC, China and World Economy, Economic Research Journal, Management World (Monthly), China Industrial Economics, Chinese Journal of Management Science, Social Sciences in China, The Journal of World Economy, and China Economic Quarterly are also on the list.
Starting from 2012 and jointly conducted by China Academic Journals (CD) Electronic Publishing House, China Scientific Literature Evaluation and Measuring Research Center and Tsinghua University Library, the annual reports are designed to evaluate the international impact of China’s academic journals in bibliometric methods based on citation statistics and analysis.
