A Special Issue on Cities and Economic Development

The International Studies of Economics (ISE) invites submissions of manuscripts for a special issue on Cities and Economic Development, rescheduled to be published in the June 2025 Issue. Cities provide the primary engines of economic activity, accounting for more than 80 percent of the global GDP. For this special issue, we welcome any economic studies of cities in the developing world as well as research on how cities promote growth in developed economies.  

To ensure its timely publication, the ISE will adopt an expedited review process for manuscripts submitted to this special issue. Specifically, there will be at most one round of revisions, after which the manuscript will be either accepted or rejected. This will ensure that authors will not be made to go through lengthy revision processes.

2. Only original papers will be considered. Submission of the same paper to multiple journals is NOT permitted.
