FEC Awarded the Distinction of "2020 The Highest International Impact Academic Journals of China"
2020-12-23

We are pleased to announce that the FEC has been awarded the distinction of 2020 The Highest International Impact Academic Journals of China (Humanities and Social Sciences) in the 2020 Annual Report of the World Academic Journals’ Clout Index (WAJCI). This is the third time the FEC was awarded this distinction, after being awarded the title of Excellent International Impact Academic Journals of China in 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018, respectively. According to this year’s Report, the clout index of the FEC stands at 115.128 while the international impact factor (excluding self-citations) and total international citations are 0.351 and 162, respectively, marking a notable increase from 2019.

With a particular emphasis on the Chinese economy and other emerging, developing or transition economies, the FEC publishes state-of-the-art researches in economics. The journal’s authors span 30 countries/regions and its readership covers more than 100 countries/regions.

The 2020 Annual Report provides detailed statistics of more than 20,000 journals run by Chinese universities, institutes or publishers. Based on such data and the impact factor, the journals’ clout indexes are formulated, and the top 5% (incl. 80 in humanities and social sciences and 175 in natural science and engineering) make up the list of The Highest International Impact Academic Journals of China while the top 5%-10% compose the list of “Excellent International Impact Academic Journals of China”. Among the 80 journals in humanities and social sciences on the former list, about 10 are in the field of economics; besides the FEC, China and World Economy, Economic Research Journal, Management World (Monthly), China Industrial Economics, Chinese Journal of Management Science, Social Sciences in China, The Journal of World Economy, and China Economic Quarterly are also on the list.

Started in 2012 and jointly conducted by China Academic Journals (CD) Electronic Publishing House, China Scientific Literature Evaluation and Measuring Research Center, and Tsinghua University Library, the annual reports of WAJCI are designed to evaluate the international impact of China’s academic journals using bibliometric methods based on citation statistics and analysis.
