We are pleased to announce that the FEC has been awarded the distinction of 2021 The Highest International Impact Academic Journals of China (Humanities and Social Sciences) in the 2021 Annual Report of the World Academic Journals’ Clout Index (WAJCI). This is the fourth time the FEC was awarded this distinction, after being awarded the title of Excellent International Impact Academic Journals of China in 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018, respectively. According to this year’s Report, the clout index of the FEC stands at 138.232 while the international impact factor (excluding self-citations) and total international citations are 0.800 and 216, respectively, marking a notable increase from 2020. It is worth noting that citations by overseas affiliations take up 70.83%.
Based on detailed statistics of 23,351 journals in humanities and social sciences run by Chinese universities, institutes or publishers, the journals’ clout indexes are formulated and the top 5% make up the list of The Highest International Impact Academic Journals of China while the top 5%-10% compose the list of “Excellent International Impact Academic Journals of China” in the 2021 Annual Report(in humanities and social sciences). Among the 80 journals on the former list, about 10 are in the field of economics.
Started in 2012 and jointly conducted by China Academic Journals (CD) Electronic Publishing House, China Scientific Literature Evaluation and Measuring Research Center, and Tsinghua University Library, the annual reports of WAJCI are designed to evaluate the international impact of China’s academic journals using bibliometric methods based on citation statistics and analysis.
